GTA IV Trailer Countdown on Television

"At Long Last"
As I predicted and hinted at on Tuesday, it looks as if the GTA4 trailer may air on television next week. Reports have been coming in that a GTA4 countdown clock with a loud noise was seen on the FX Network channel very early on Thursday morning prior to paid programming. While this may only be advertising for the trailer that will go up on the web, it hints that there is a television marketing machine at work here. Here is an eyewitness report:

"If you turn to the FX channel right now, there's a big black screen with 'IV' in the Grand Theft Auto font, along with the word 'trailer' and a countdown leading up to next Thursday, March 29 at around 6 p.m. EST. Then there's Rockstar's GTA4 Web site listed below with the Rockstar logo."

"With each second that counts down, there's a 'KA-chung, KA-chung, KA-chung' noise that resembles the 24 countdown noise, but with less clang and not so much beep. It's annoying, until you've been listening to it for a few minutes and it just becomes hypnotic."

And another report:

"It just ended with 'This Product Is Not Yet Rated.' Also, it sounded nothing like a clock. It sounded like hitting a spike with a sledge hammer."

The channel is owned by Fox.

It aired from 2:00 a.m. until 2:30 a.m. Eastern time. It was reported that the trailer countdown clock aired on the channel after the television show That '70s Show. The countdown clock hits zero next week right when two episodes of That '70s Show begin to air. Clues, perhaps? More on this soon. Thanks to NeoGAF for the eyewitness reports.

Thanks goes to PlanetGTA for the information
